This weekend was alright, I guess. Jeff got here late. I had a super shitty Friday for some reason. I was biting my lip all day, trying to keep from crying. Why? Who knows... I really hate being sick. We had an early lunch, then got some coffee (yummy white chocolate mocha!). Jeff left for his black belt class around noon. I hung out with my friends and that was good. Didn't do too much. I finished  K-Swiss's scarf (yay!) which is super awesome. The guys were on their computers the whole time messing around online. Anyway, Jeff got back around 5 or 530. We had dinner at Portofino's (picture of my yummy capelline sorrento below). I had never been there, and it was awesome! That night was alright. We hung out at my dorm. Jeff was getting tired; around 11 I left to hang out my the guys again while Jeff went to sleep (he had a long day b/c of his black belt class). We hung out and then around 130am, I guess, we went outside and Sir Tim made a zen garden ...
So, we're playing this game called Assassins. Everyone playing is assigned a target by an anonymous moderator. (I'm pretty sure it's Ragusa this time.) You have to hit your target with a clean sock to kill him/her. It must not be a sock you are wearing, it MUST be clean, it has to come directly from your hand (no leaving booby traps or whatever). There are a few safe zones: your room, your suite hall and bathroom, the breeze ways in your dorm, all academic buildings, all religious buildings, and the Commons (cafeteria). Most people are killed in the quad, directly outside the commons, or in the coffee shop. Also, you cannot kill your target while you are safe: this means that you cannot kill your target in your own room. While they are not safe, you are. If you hit your assassin with a sock, you are granted a six hour immunity. Anyway, so we're playing this game. My target has gotten immunity. I gave it willingly because we were in a standoff in the Wm. Gaston Science ...
From this point forward, I am ne -he- hevvver taking someones advice about which professor to take if it is counter to what near everyone else on campus claims. So, my dear dear friend Andrew lurrrves Dr. Fowler. Says that I simply must take his class. This is echoed by my suite mates. He's brilliant! They exclaim. I must admit, I am curious. Everyone else on campus seems to hate him. And, well, he doesn't look all that pleasant... But, I have high regard for Andrew's opinion, so I enroll in Dr. Fowler's EN 201: English Literature. You know, Beowulf, Chaucer, Milton, etc, so forth and so on.... I tried, dear reader. Genuinely, I did. This man is sure to the the most angry, loathsome, ornery professor I shall ever have the pleasure of meeting. His lectures consists largely of explaining to us how we will fail because all we are all ignorant and we do not care. Gee, I'm real sorry that I didn't know who the Cavaliers were... (Royalists, it seems). Really, I am t...
So, Friday night was the President's Ball at Belmont Abbey. I wish I could tell you that I have many pictures of me and my date and how stellar we looked. Ummm , I don't. But I'll tell you all about it! I put some tiny braids in my hair and curled all the rest with a skinny curling iron, looked pretty darn good. I may have a photo of that somewhere, but I've got to upload it first. My dress was a Gunne Sax vintage. Strapless, pink tea length. Oh, and amazing. It was amazing. K-Swiss was wearing an off-white linen suit with a salmon shirt and silver tie. Truely , we looked out of this era. It was delightful. We were going to eat at Portofino's but the wait was very long. 30-50 minutes. Ha! No. We went to Sakura where we waited about 15 minutes , but we waited at the bar where I enjoyed a Dissarono Sour. :-) Yummmm . We started with a seaweed salad topped with octopus. For the main course we had a tuna roll and yellow tail nigiri and a Flamingo Roll ( w...
I just lurrrrrve hanging out late late late at night. Tonight, we went just hung out around campus for a few hours. Coffee shop, then back to Sir Tim and K-Swiss 's room. Then we went to McDonald's because I missed dinner. I was feeling really really sick today. Extremely nauseas. I probably slept from 3-6 pm. It sucked hard core. I had to skip English. Thought I would throw up in class. Anyway, when I woke up I felt a little better. So, after McDonald's we sat and ate in the quad. Sir Tim found some wood and carved a really shitty looking sword out of it. Turns out the wood was a part of one of the new desks. Well, why did they put all that by the trash cans???? Watched Wayne's World because RAY had NOT seen it yet!!!!! Crrraaazzzzzy. Then Robot Chicken. Mucho hilarious. Then to Smashing. (Super Smash Bros. where you can play a number of established characters, i.e. Peach, Link, Jigglypuff, Mario, Marth, etc and they all wail on each other.) After an hour of...
You Should Really Read "Catcher In The Rye" I'm the most terrific liar you ever saw in your life. It's awful. If I'm on my way to the store to buy a magazine, even, and somebody asks me where I'm going, I'm liable to say I'm going to the opera. It's terrible. I know you're supposed to feel pretty sexy when somebody gets up and pulls their dress over their head, but I didn't. Sexy was about the last thing I was feeling. I felt much more depressed than sexy. Everything I had was bourgeois as hell. Even my fountain pen was bourgeois. He borrowed it off me all the time, but it was bourgeois anyway. Certain things they should stay the way they are. You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone. I know that's impossible, but it's too bad anyway. Old Phoebe didn't say anything, but she was listening. I could tell by the back of her neck that she was listening. She always listens when you t...
