Fcukit.

The sweater was pushed up with the shirt cuffs rolled up, but this'll do. I'm more pleased with my evening outfit because I've managed to put together an outfit that doesn't make the cosby sweater look like shite. But, I can't manage to put it together on here. There aren't any proper cosby sweaters. To work: I'm wearing a black mini dress with a kind of flared skirt (Nicky Hilton, from TJ Maxx). Blue button front blouse (Merona, Target), Black v-neck sweater and blue tights (F21). Got home, removed the sweater and blouse and replaced 'em with a cosby sweater (K-Swiss's old sweater). It's black and gray with blue, red, yellow, and green stripes. Tried to find one on here but failed miserable. So that mini pic is the best I could do. Teal ones in the pic to match with the sweater. Serious, that picture is pure pure shit. I just wanted to blog this so I could remember.

Timmy has been in town. Ray, Pete, K-Swiss and Sir Tim are hanging out right now, actually. But I didn't want to go. We all hung out last night and this is what I wore. I really love the outfit, compounded by the fact that K-Swiss kept saying how much he loved the gloves and how they looked with the sweater (which I cannot be bothered to crop properly today, apologies.) Jeans (refuge, thrifted). FCUK IT tee (FCUK, duh), Red tee (F21), Gloves (target), Sweater (JC Penney, used to be mum's), pashmina (walmart), red satin flats (Payless)

Now I need a baby top hat.

This is what I wore to work on Friday. Honestly, I felt bit steam , what with the lace belt and fitted vest. I felt very cool in this outfit, sorry if that's retarded. I've also taken to wearing lots of eyeliner again. As usual, it makes me feel like a rockstar. I don't wear mascara because I've been wearing my specs lately, and mascara + specs is never a good combo for me. Black jeans, purple boyfriend cardigan, and lace belt (F21), Satin blouse (George, Thrifted) and fitted vest (Express, Thrifted), black pleather knee high boots (Diba, Off Broadway)

I love my 3+ inchers. :)

Lord, I didn't write down what I wore, so it took me a while to remember what I actually wore to work on Wednesday. For a moment there all I had was the tights and the heels. Very monochromatic day here, black and gray. Gray and black. The sweater was actually a knit/crocheted piece with lots of large holes. I wore a black tank underneath. Dunno if it was the most modest, office appropriate thing to wear. I push the envelope a bit. Black crochet sweater (Charlotte Russe), Gray skirt with studs (and zips all the way apart in the back!) (Candies for Kohl's), Black pashmina (Walmart), Black patent stilettos, black swiss-dot tights, and silvery clutch (Target!)

Enjoy your VD. I know I will.

This is what I'm wearing to work on Valentine's day. Bodycon skirt (F21), generic tights, sweater (thrifted), boots (TJ Maxx). A mix of some black and gun metal jewelry. Mostly F21. I'll be wearing makeup to work for the first time in forever. Bright lipstick and dark eyes.

On Friday, we joined a few of our friends in gathering at the Mason's. It was supposed to be potluck. I brought corn casserole, as I always do. One person brought soda, one person brought chips and salsa, and one person brought pizza. It was the most non-potluck potluck I've ever attended! I wanted to wear something very different-y. At least this time I have a photo to share! I wore a prairie skirt (thirfted) that I bought two years ago and have never worn. I never would have imagined to wear it this way, but I was pleased. A blue knit cropped cardigan and black lace belt (both, F21). I put my hair into a high messy-ish bun and clipped a tiny child's bow next to the bun. I completed the outfit with black tights and my black ankle boots. Under the cardigan and tucked into the skirt was a black AA tee (gift) but you can't see it anyway. I finally had K-Swiss take a photo of my outfit yesterday. Unfortunately, it was taken in the shade. Unfortunately, his ph

Fitted vests are wonderful

Yes yes yes, I already have a set for 2/11, but this is what I wore to sushi dinner that night. I know, super romantic outfit, right? Blue oxford (Merona, Target), black fitted vest (Express, thrifted), black skinnies (Miley and Max, Walmart), boots (Graceland, shoe carnival)

Elixer of day, I remain thy loyal slave

K-Swiss came home from work today laden with gifts of chocolate, coffee, and a grinder. We bought a coffee maker a week or so ago, but used up the last bit of coffee in the freezer quite quickly. I can't tell you how happy I am to have this grinder. Can I possibly express how happy this makes me? Yesterday, I presented him with two bottles of nigori sake. Gifting seasons are the best.

Belied with false compare

Today would have been a great day to get a photo of my outfit. The Purple Blazer (Gap, Thrifted) is a more purple-y purple than the mauve-y blazer pictured. Also, it feels more structured than that one looks. The top was a chiffon ruffled blouse from Miley and Max. It looks just like this one , but it's just black. I'm quite fond of this blouse. The high neck conveys a sense of modesty belied by the the sheerness of the blouse. (Of course, I always wear at least a tank underneath.) I wore my typical Miley and Max black jeans. I pinned a red rose brooch (gift) onto my lapel and wore my satin red ballet slippers to parallel that. I love pairing red and purple! I suspect if you glance at the bottom right corner of this photo, you'll have a good chance at guessing what's for dinner tonight.

I own a lot of black.

Ha! How boring is this? This is what I wear to work at the restaurant. I wanted to do a Polyvore for this, but it never changes, for the most part. Sometimes I wear a button-front, sometimes I wear short-sleeves. My boss isn't picky. Black pants (today I wore cords, actually, -JC Penny's- but I usually wear slacks), black top (today I wore a long-sleeved Mossimo black tee - thrifted), and comfy, non-slip shoes (mine are actually loafers from Walmart!). I have a black half apron (exactly like the one you see so many waitresses wearing. I have a colorful spiral-bound notebook and a purple pen, for a punch of color. Oh, and I usually wear body jewelry for earrings. They are no-fuss and unlikely to snag. This has been an excellent week. It really has. I have made $187.23 this week. By comparison, in the previous month here, I have averaged $108.37 per week, with the very best week at $127.65 and the very worst week at $86.09. So, yeah, I'm pretty damn happy about increa

Plus who doesn't love golden sparrows?

Image
I'm reposting the entire set from earlier so you might see the difference in that comes with the addition of a background and some items of whimsy. I really really like it, and I hope you do, too. Further, I've added the bag and the bracelet. I selected these particular items because they made me think of spring. Though snow is being called for tonight, I'm looking forward to spring. Please give me feedback on this image as opposed to other items.

Wooo! A new item. This is actually a reasonable faccimilie of what I wore today. The red dress doesn't actually have a v-neck, I had to make it shorter, and it's a bit more pleated, but other than that, I'm satisfied. Red dress (Forever 21), black skirt (thrifted) underneath for added length, generic black leggings (forever 21), blue and white button front (thrifted), black boots (Shoe Carnival). I also wore a black pashmina (walmart) and the black corduroy jacket I've been wearing lately, but those were solely outerwear. Oh buh-jezus. As I'm typing this, I realize I forgot to include my bag. Which was this black fluffy thingy. Poofy. Oh, and a bracelet. Damnit, I will update this later.

I've tried to fix what I was wearing on 2/7/1 1 so that you could actually see the skirt, as per Tiffasaurus 's suggestions. Fricking cropping the background out sucks.

Sleepy Kitten Cannot Spell Mubarak

We will forgive kitty, because he is the cutest activist evar. More protester kitten sweetness *Please note that I am not belittling the protesting. I refrain from mentioning political and/or religious information too often on my blog because it is not something that I enjoy discussing, even IRL. I'll leave it at that.

I feel like a hipster in this blazer.

2/8/2011   I realize that I've been boring with my outfits a bit, but, seriously, at least I'm blogging. I've also found that I'm wearing the same fucking thing every day. I guess this Polyvoring is helpful. Oh and I believe this blazer is a men's blazer, but that's OK b/c the real one is pretty andro. Waitressing has been good this week. I've already made $129.75 this week, when I normally make that much all week. Also, I've been reading a shit-ton of fanfic lately, so I don't have much time for anything else.

It's this weird blue tiered square-dance looking home made thing (thrifted, obvy)

Image
I was going to wear a skirt that was much crazier today, and then I remembered I had a meeting with the new Director of Career Services. Basically, we're taking what I wore on 2/4* and switching out the jeans for a cream colored skirt that falls to mid calf (thrifted). I really love this skirt. Part of what I'm looking forward to doing on this website is adding my entire wardrobe, so I can plan my outfits on Polyvore. That would be fun. You can already see a few staples just from looking at the posts. *Tan floral shirt (Thrifted), blue acrylic cable knit (TJ Maxx), camel boots (TJ Maxx), and brown messenger bag (Peebles).

The Lime Green Versace Miniskirt, for example

Image
I wore this to last night's Agora party. Next time I pair these tops, I will try and take a picture, I was quite fond of the look created. This is the same outfit as the last, except add a black corduroy blazer (Thrifted) on top of the sweater and a teals scarf (Walmart). Tonight is the Super Bowl party at work (the restaurant). I've got to wear something really cool, because these people only ever see me in black pants, black top, black shoes. So, do you like this Polyvore stuff? Let me know. This playing dress-up seems to be the one thing that has kept me dedicated to blogging lately. We should rename this 2011: THE YEAR OF POLYVORE. Of course, I'll probably just quit in a month.

Thrifted items are a problem here

God, I love Polyvore. Why? Well, while I waited for K-Swiss to wake up from his nap (so we could go get sushi), I spent an hour searching for items I owned on Google, so I could accurately represent what I'm wearing. IT'S ALL FOR YOU!

Maybe I just need more messenger bags.

Image
There is nothing inspiring about this outfit.  K-Swiss and I are about to go out for sushi and grocery shopping. But, I just really enjoy playing with polyvore! The Kickz.com shirt was the closest I could find to my black fitted Rusty tee (Plato's Closet). My Rusty tee has a bit of faded red on it, so I always wear my red chuck taylors (TJ Maxx). I may have mentioned this, but I found a new love, a new thrift store, thanks to my co-worker. I spend $50 there the other day, and two of the finds were a brown (almost like a light mocha color) Banana Republic sweater (so much cooler than the one pictured) and Refuge Denim flares. Oh, and my messenger bag is developing an inferiority complex.

Polyvore is like playing dress up.

Image
I'm quite fond of the sweater over floral shirt look. Which must plain by my wearing such a combination twice in a row. This is a more tan floral shirt (Thrifted), and a blue acrylic (sooo soft) cable knit (TJ Maxx). Black skinniest (Miley and Max), camel boots (TJ Maxx), and brown messenger bag (Peebles). The bag pictured does not actually resemble the messenger bag I carried in anyway, except that they are both brown messenger bags. However, I assure you, this is much more like the one I would have liked to have carried. When my sister and I go to the beach this spring, I have a store that I want to stop by where I might be able to purchase a super awesome leather messenger bag. If, you know, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I love thrifting.

Image
I didn't wear this to work... but I should. The same floral shirt (Kohl's), black suede wiggle skirt (thrifted) and generic black leggings (F21) as yesterday. I added my new hot pink cable knit sweater (thrifted) I carried my brown, flowered messenger bag (Peebles, and it totally looks cooler than this one) and camel colored boots (TJ maxx). Oh, BTW, this is the first time I've set up something on Polyvore to look like the actual outfit. I'm rather pleased with the collar. It's the little things.

Wiggle skirts, ruffles and florals. It doesn't get much more feminine.

Image
Man, I wish I could make these more accurate, but this is the best I can do w/o taking pics. The floral blouse (Kohl's) was tucked into a black suede wiggle skirt (thrifted) and topped with a dusty pink blazer (thrifted). That second black blazer in the pic? That's to show you what my blazer actually looks like. It's a flared blazer and I love it. Finish off the set with generic black leggings and black suede ankle boots.

It was Birthday Cake flavored.

"Hey, don't finish it." I look down into the yellow cardboard container. It's more than half empty. "What? Why not?" "It's a whole pint of ice cream!"  K-Swiss has returned from replacing his half-eaten pint in the freezer and is frowning at me. "Well, it was a whole pint of ice cream. Now, it's about a cup." I eat another scoop. "Mmmmmmm...." "You can't eat it all in one sitting. Leave some for tomorrow!" "I don't understand the logic behind this. This doesn't make sense. Why can't I finish it?" "It's... it's a whole pint! You can't eat it all at once!" And I continued eating my ice cream. I'm still not sure why you shouldn't eat a whole pint of ice cream in one go.

If I were green I would die.

This was a super comfy outfit, perfect for a Monday. Start off with cobalt leggings (F21) and add a blue and white patterned button front (thrifted). Mine was actually a more delicate china-like pattern. It also had some very feminine detailing, including capped sleeves and a peter-pan collar. Try on your black body-con skirt (F21) for the first time and realize that, with all that cotton-spandex blend, it's really fucking comfortable. Add a white hoodie (thrifted) for warmth and added comfiness. And bottom off with your everyday black suede booties (Shoe Carnival, I think).
