Spoiler, spoiler, spoilery. If you haven't played Dragon Age, and intend to, please don't read this. There are some gut wrenching spoilers below. Don't say I didn't warn you! And, yes, this is terribly nerdy and tumblr-y. Forgive me. I don't care. I don't have ANYONE to talk with about my play through (K-Swiss is playing ME2 and does not intend to play DA:O when he's done. Jerk.), so I need to spill a little. I'm right now trying to decide whether I should buy DA2 and play that, or play Baldur's Gate, which I already own -- K-Swiss bought me the GOG.com D&D pack over X-Mas -- but have yet to play. Speaking of games I acquired over Christmas, I promised Tiffers I'd do a Christmas haul (she was excited until she discovered that it was comprised solely of video games) so I might do that later this weekend. GOG always has great deals, but their Black Friday Sale this year is pretty stellar. From now until November 27th, pick 5 of the 20 games below for only $10. Pretty Sweet. My suggestions: Alan Wake American Nightmare, Genforge 1-5 (what an incredible bargin!), Machinarium, Bontanicula, and Spacechem.

Game Dev Story is by  Kairosoft Co , creators of a more than a dozen simulation management games. All of their games are available free as a "Lite" version, or $4.99 for the full version. I've played several of the lite version of their games, but the price tag was a little high for a tablet game. Steam has lowered the price point I'm willing to pay for games (I paid $4.99 for The Witcher and for Fallout 3 GOTY). However, Game Dev Story is currently 40% off in the Google Play store in honor of the release of Kairosoft's newest game "Venture Towns." I knew I enjoyed the game, and I was confident I could get my standard rate requirement out of it ($1 for every hour played. I don't buy a lot of games new.) Possible confirmation from the devs of the popular "Secrets of the Magic Crystal." "...Valve contacted me about two weeks ago to announce their Autumn (nov 21-27) and Winter (Dec 20-Jan 4) sales..." (at least they're fully aware that their game is popular for gag-gifting) The dates for the Autumn sale come as no real surprise. Historically, the Autumn sale has began the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The duration is two days longer than the 2011 sale, but the same length as the 2010 sale. However, the past couple Winter Sales have begun the third Monday in December. In fact, I've got it marked on my calendar. But this year, that would be the 17th. We're starting a couple days later but getting one extra day of deals. Two simple rules for enjoying Steam Sales Rule #1 - Unless it's a daily deal, don't buy it until the last day of the sale.
