Hummm

I just realized that if I'm making Brynhildur prejudiced against magicka due to being a Nord, I ought to make her have more of the Nord beliefs. Such as "Skyrim is for the Nords." So, I think she's going to side with the Stormcloaks... as much as I disagree with that. I'll have to have another character side with the Imperials.

Beware, possible spoilers ahead

Please note that I'm playing this on my laptop on LOW graphics setting, so it appears as though I'm playing a game from 10 years ago. So I didn't really bother with taking the best screenshots because it's not like anybody is going to use these as wallpaper. Apologies. It's a really lovely game. Especially at night. Also in Blackreach. Just, less pretty on my computer. I've finished the main quest in Skyrim, but there is still so much to do. My current character is Brynhildur Bjornsdottir, a young Nord girl from a small farming village in Cyrodill. She was raised as the only girl with three brothers. Coddled by her parents, her brothers took it upon themselves to toughen her up; after all, it's a rough world out there. She specializes in two-handed, heavy armor and block. She's a classic Lawful Good character, if a little reckless. She likes to charge into a fight and worry later. She's extremely friendly and personable, helping out anyone who

Ugh. One reason I wish I were full time at work is so I could pay someone to come in and clean the kitchen and bathrooms once a week. Including dishes. Yeah. That would be sweet.

I may or may not have watched this video about four dozen times since it came out. And in the past couple weeks, it's been consistently stuck in my head.

"I'll be off Azeroth, See you later; Hyrule."

Image
You may see many excuses for inactivity along these lines from various people in your life. But I won't be posting much next week. I'll post when Tiffasaurus comes down. But other than that, I'm a little preoccupied. I'm finishing up and exam and, oh yeah.

Favorite Color

Image
Day 12 - Favorite Color Hot pink/fuschia and purple. Hot pink lips and purple eyes.... Not at the same time, though.

FOTD

Image
This isn't really a FOTD. I woke up early and I was playing with makeup. I was watching this video and trying to dupe what she did on the eyes. I'll end up washing this off when I go take my shower. Further, I've been reading Kevyn Aucoin's book Making Faces and he says that he doesn't like to put on a lot of foundation everyday, so I just used concealer where necessary and then patted on powder (not foundation) to mattify my face. All the eye colors are from the Coastal Scents 78 Shadow/Blush palette . Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara . Milani Liquif'Eye in Brown on the waterline. Translucent pink gloss by Bonbons (lol). Bronzer and blush from the I Dream of Sugar palette . My cheeks are jacked up, though. Can't see the blush on my cheeks and Too much bronzer on my temple. Ugh. Whatevs. On the face is Glamoflauge concealer and Covergirl Clean pressed powder .

Catching up again

This is going to be quick because I'm a bit mopey and don't feel like blogging much today, but I do want to keep up with this. Day 10 — Current Style That You Like To be honest, I'm a big fan of my general style. I just wish I had more cash. It's kind of an edgy cute, because normally my face is very "cute." With my current hair style, my face appears very soft.  I like to wear a lot of blacks and grays with pops of color. Like today I had on black knit tights, black boots ( seen here ), a black 3/4 sleeve tee, loose, but banded at the waist, and an awesome gray skirt with studs on the waist and pockets and a heavy duty back zipper. Oh and a hot pink scarf. I had on muted eye makeup with a hot pink lip. My hair is short with a moderate amount of volume and wave today. I love scarves and boots. I like skinny pants and loose tops. I like my hair to be a little all over the place. I like both the tough rocker harshness of joan jett and the soft colorful

So many ideas, so little time....

Sorry I didn't post yesterday at all. Looks like this is Not-Many-Stops November! I have a couple ideas for upcoming posts/series/etc. Swatches of some TKB pigments and micas along with shadows I've made. You can suggest colors and/or products and I can try to recreate them. A DIY Plumping lip balm, since that's easier than a gloss. I'll show how to and final product. Massive e.l.f. and Nyx review-and-swatch-a-thons A pile of nail swatches, maybe. A comparison of various eye primers Recreations of  Temptalia's looks . I'll tell you what I used and you can tell me if I failed or not. On a more exciting note, I did makeup and hair for our office work study today. She came in already wearing foundation and concealer. Also her hair is curly so we had just told her to do it like she normally does, but NOT in a pony tail. I teased the roots on top and spritzed a tiny amount of hair spray. Her curls looked so cute! I did a very neutral eye, smudged out br

Day 09 — Favorite Pair of Shoes

Image
Ahh favorite pair of shoes. I could wax poetic on this subject, but I was able to select three pairs of shoes. One pair of heels, one pair of boots, and one pair of flats. Heels: These lovelies were purchased on CLEARANCE from Target. Serious, WTF? Who wouldn't want to get these home ASAP? I took them home and loved them I get SO many compliments on these shoes. They have (I think) a 3.75 inch heel with a .5 inch platform. These shoes are second to my black pumps, but black just goes with more outfits. If I had to pick a pair of shoes solely (ha!) on merit, I'd pick these. The height and the heel are perfect, the t-strap is adorable, the detailing is simply lovely. Look at that glorious detail. So pretty! (eesh, these might need a little polish. I need an up close photo to let me see that...) Boots: I can't remember where I purchased these shoes, but I've loved them ever since. They are wonderful black suede booties with a very slight heel (.5 in). Super co

Burt's Bees Grab Bag

Image
SALE ALERT! From Nouveau Cheap (author G is on of my favorite blogger ladies!) The Burt's Bees Grab Bags are BACK! This deal only comes around a few times a year (I think I've posted about it twice in the past) and it tends to run out quickly, so "grab" it while you can if you're interested. This time around, you'll get 14 items (samples and FIVE full-size items) for $25 ($50 value). In the past, I heard from a few readers who were disappointed with the contents of their bags, but it seems like Burt's Bees has made efforts to improve the selection and last time around I heard from quite a few of you who were pleased with what they got. But hey, that's the fun of a grab bag, right? You never know what you're going to get. Use code Fall11 to get the bag for $20. Free FedEx shipping with orders of $40 or more Check out G's post to see other great deals ! I haven't decided if I ought to get the bag. Hmmm. I could get 2 for $40 (an

I wouldn't recommend this

I thought, you know what would be great? A palette of my cream shadows. And I don't mean my cream shadows from Urban Decay. Those came in a tube. I mean my e.l.f. ,   maybelline , and Revlon cream shadows. Unfortunately, upon examining my Revlon and Maybelline creams, I discovered they weren't in pans. The cream shadow had just been poured into the plastic itself. Well, lame. Luckily, my e.l.f. cream shadows ARE in a pan! Lets do this. Ugh.... The pans were SO weak that as soon as I slipped my knife in there and started wiggling around, it slipped right through the pan. That's right. Broke the pan. Weak. (literally). So, no cream shadow pans. I don't have a happy home for the, so they're in shoebox with random other items that may never get used. C'est la vie. What a bummer.

Urban Decay Haul

Image
Maybe I'm bored. Maybe I need to go play video games. Something about the holiday season just throws me into makeup/blogger mode. I received my Urban Decay purchase yesterday! Yay! Pretty stoked. I only spent $30. After going through my stuff I thought "Hmmm, I could do a haul video." Ugh. Whatevs. I did one. It's pretty short. It's a bit choppy because I tried to get rid of all my rambling. Pics below the video. Haul: XL Primer Potion in Sin (vintage bottle), Cream Shadows in Moonshine, Mushroom, Asphalt, and Deliquent , Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Wallflower (sample). I'm regretting not getting rehab and radium, but I don't want to pay $6 shipping for two shadows. Ugh. Lame. I took the above photos in natural light ... mang, we've come a long way in 48 hours. Please don't expect this regularly. I won't always be so bored.

Treatise on Laziness

Image
Ugh. Fine. I hate you all. When I was cleaning my room today... I found... a camera. So you get some fooking pictures. This is my makeup today. Pretty simple. I'm wearing Face: Everyday Minerals Matte Base in Winged Butter Cheeks: e.l.f. Natural Radiance Blusher in Glow Lips: Avon Pro-to-Go lipstick in Golden Rose . Eyes: L'oreal DeCrease primer , HiP Duo in Roaring (brown shade) on the lid, L.A. Colors Eye Candy (ivory shade) as a highlight, Wet 'n Wild Liquid Liner in Turquoise on the lash line with a touch of NARS South Pacific (teal shade) dusted on top. Oh and Revlon Fabulash . Very simple with a lovely color pop. Perfect day off, running errands makeup. Oh and I forgot to crop that photo, so let's pretend that's a tanktop. Also please ignore the hot mess hair. If you're looking in that general direction, admire the adorable clip I made. Tres mignonne, non? And wouldn't you know it, I didn't realize that the photo I took of my eye was

Wait... I thought this was a *Beauty* blogging challenge, right?

Day 08 — A Photo That Makes You Laugh ... I'm seriously going to rewrite this whole fucking list. How about an NOTD? I'm using my webcam to take photos because it's really my best option. Also, I'm terribly lazy and can't be bothered to take nice photos and crop and whatever. Anyway, I've been giving myself regular manicures lately. I have a problem with picking at my cuticules, but I don't do it if my nails are done. I just redid my nails last night in Pure Ice Twinkle using WnW Megalast Top Coat and Color Club Stuck On You Base Coat. It's an extremely lovely color, if a bit summery. I think I was rebelling against my extra Christmassy red glitter nails from last week. It's interesting to note that under the exact same circumstances -- evening manicure, same top and basecoats, shower in the morning -- the red polish (WnW Rockin' in Rubies) chipped and Twinkle did not. It's held up beautifully all day with no chipping or tip wear, t

DIY Palettes

Image
If my shadows are in singles/doubles/trios/quads, or just, you know, less than probably ten shadows in one package, I pretty much forget about them. To fix this problem, I've gone ahead and depotted almost all of my shadows, blushes, and bronzers. I've ended up with 3 full shadow palettes and one 1/5 full shadow pallete, one 1/3 full bronzer palette and one 3/4 full blush palette. To do: find a dvd case or x-box case. Whatever. Remove anything that stick out (the bits that hold the insert and the disc in). Depot your shadows (carefully) in whatever way works best for you. I use heat and a knife. In other words, some shadow aren't stuck on well enough (and are packed firmly enough) that you can just slid a knife in the side and gentle wiggle the shadow out. For most shadows, I use a lighter to soften up the plastic and work in there with my knife until the shadow starts coming out. Softer shadows may start to break. You may jab the knife in your shadow. I did this a couple

Day 07 - Everyday Makeup

Day 07 — Favorite Animal Jesus this has nothing to do with cosmetics. We're going to do FOTD. Primers used: ELF Essential Eye Primer, Rimmel Fix and Perfect. Base: Everyday Minerals Foundation in Winged Butter Blush: Everyday Minerals in Truly Tiger Lip: Almay Hydracolor Lipstick in Raspberry Pearl Eyeshadow: ELF 100 Color palette. I'll just explain since it'll be difficult to point out. I've got a matte brown on my lids. The crease and outer corner are blended out with a shimmery purple. The inner 2/3 are blended out with a lighter brown, slightly shimmery, not too much. A frosty ivory shade for the highlight (very lightly used) Eyeliner: Wet 'n Wild Megaliner in 864 Plum (liquid liner. I know right!) I wish I had some lovely pictures for you, but as you can tell from these images , the photos from my web cam are teh suck. Further, I'm wearing WnW Rockin' in Rubies nail polish. And I desperately need a hair cut.

Lovely lashes

Image
I have had an impossible time with false lashes and liquid liner in the past. I don't know what it was, but I was just unable to use these products. I think I got frustrated and gave up way to easily. Saturday, I assembled a new shelf on which I placed all my beauty products (hair, face, cosmetics). The stuff I use every day are on a short table with a mirror that is next to the shelf. I've decided I cannot buy more beauty products than can fit on these two shelves. Some hair and face items are also in the bathroom, of course. Anyway, I reorganized my makeup and got rid of some old stuff. I came across some Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner . I though, I'll just play around. I'll probably fail. Hard. Well, I didn't. I liked it a lot. This liner has a felt tip, which I think might be easier for newbs such as myself. In fact, when we went to an Agora party this weekend I wore liquid liner. I have to say, I'm a fan. I still like my Milani better, but I ma

Day 06 — Anything Hello Kitty

Hello Kitty pic spam. Hello Kitty MAC Collection (over) Hello Kitty Sephora Hello Kitty bags from Bag Haus And various other hello kitty shit.

Day 05 - Favorite Fragrance.

Image
Day 05 — Favorite Thing to Do This is dumb. I'm going to change this to Favorite Fragrance, since that isn't on the list. I have a few fragrances I wear regularly. I have opened up my three perfume bottles and placed them in these vintages style bottles . Beautiful, no? Long-time Love : The first fragrance K-Swiss ever bought me was Vera Wang's Flower Princess . We spend maybe an hour or two pouring over all the fragrances at a couple department stores before settling on Vera Wang's Flower Princess. As the original favorite fragrance, Flower Princes has the honor of remaining in the vintage bottle with the atomizer. A new spirit in fragrance is blossoming, Flower Princess by Vera Wang. Pretty and playful as the field of fresh flowers, it's an experience that radiates freshness, capturing the warmth of sunlit flowers in bloom. Flower Princess enchants with a light and feminine sparkling floral scent that captures the essence of beauty, inspired by the origin
