Isn't she lucky?
Yea, I guess so. Okay, here's what happened:
I was REALLY tired... I shouldn't've been, but I was. It sucked. I was ALMOST home. I didn't mean to close my eyes, but obviously I did. The next thing I know I hit the curb and my eyes flew open and I was swerving and I tried to right my car, but no such luck. I remember screaming tires and then flipping over and heading for trees. I remember then sitting on my ceiling and screaming for help. I was sort of in shock at that point. I don't think that I had been wearing my seat belt, now that I think about it. As soon as I flipped over, I remember tumbling and sitting on the ceiling.
I decided it best not to try and open the doors, so I began to open my window and a man showed up. He asked me if I was okay, I said yes. He asked me my name and address, I replied. I opened the window a little more and he helped me slide out. I was standing up and saying that I had to call my dad and my recruiter. Actually, what I was thinking was that my dad was going to kill me. Now that I think about it, I know that's not true. Obviously.
The man then made me sit on the ground and asked me "does it hurt when I do this?" "Do this hurt?" and I replied "no" and "no". The man was a first response person. I'm very grateful for him being there. He just made me feel a whole lot better about the whole thing. Actually, I had thought he was a doctor. I am going to get a copy of the police report and find his name and thank him.
Anyway, there was a whole bunch of people there. The first thing I was asked was "are you okay?" then "were you the only person in the car?"... yes and yes. Some people tried to call my house, but nobody was home. The one day I forget my cell! About that time I saw a cop pull up, but he was just directing traffic. Then I heard the fire truck pull up. I didn't want to make such a fuss! But, car flipped over? Sorta gonna happen. That's about when the first response guy left, and I let out a tearful "thank you!" to him. He smiled. "Hey, no problem!"
The firemen checked me out, sorta like the first response guy did. Then the ambulance got there. Everybody was asking me my name, phone number, address, DOB, SSN, and stuff. Then they put a neck brace on me and said that I would have to go to the hospital to get checked out. I went to Memorial, b/c I just really don't know to much about the hospitals. They strapped me onto a board (realy uncomfortable) but things around my head and carried me to the ambulance. No flashing lites. No sounds. But, okay. I wasn't dying.
The woman in the ambulance was grrreat! She called my Dad and my Recruiter on her personal cell, b/c they aren't really supposed to call and tell that. I don't know why. But it was good, b/c my dad had seen my car on the way home with my sister. He stopped the car because he had seen a small grayish silver car flipped over. Then they saw all my stuffed animals on the ground and the started running. My dad thought I was dead. My sister was actually cool about it. I told her it was the twin thing. I was okay, and she knew it. That's about when Sissy got in touch with daddy. She told him I was A Okay! and then told him where I'd be. Then we called the recruiter again. we had already left a message on his cell and then we called him again. He said I SCARED him! But Sissy told him that I was okay. I have to go see him today. I got a ticket and have had some medication. Now, I have to change my research.
At the hospital, dad and tiffany brought my teddy bear with my scarf wrapped around his neck. When I was in my CT scan, tiffany and dad were bored so the looked through all the cabinets for something interesting, like a syringe. No such luck. THey found IVs but didn't wanna mess with those. The got out a purple glove and a mask and ripped off fingers of the purple glove and put them on the bear as gloves and then they put on the mask. Introducing Dr. Theodore Jose Gonzales Thermopalis. We played arund with the doctors instruments and stuff, and at 10:30, they realased me saying that I had a bad urinary infection and gave me a prescription. How about that, four urinalisis' in the past month and the only ones who discover it are g'ville memorial. It must be recent, b/c they would've detected that at MEPS.
I had X-rays and a cat scan. Mark was cute (he's a nurse). That's about it.... That's my experince with my car wreck. I walked away with a scratch on my forehead. I was sooo lucky. My patron saint is St. Genevieve. She's the patron saint of disasters. Supposed to be stuff like hurricanes and stuff, but I know she's what there for me. Holding me and keeping me safe. So was Michael Matthew, my guardian angel. And most importantly, God, Jesus and his Holy Mother. They kept me safe. I'm alive. I walked away from a pretty awful car wreck with nothing but a scratch. Miracle.
God is so great. Non of you ever forget that. We aren't promised tomorrow. Here is the proof! Angels are watching over you.
