Booking Through Thursday

  1. A couple weeks ago, we asked about how you take care of your books, with one of the questions asking whether you write in your books. Well, what about books that are meant to be written in? Like, say, a journal or diary? Do you keep one? Obviously, if you're answering this, you have a blog--do you just let your blog be your journal? Or do you also keep one for private stuff also?
I keep four blogs:
  1. Mary Commentary, which is filled with random thoughts, memes, and photos. This blog is public. I have two main readers (whom I know of, by their comments): LadyTiffanyAnne (dear sis) and one anonymous commenter. You are currently reading this! :-D
  2. The Indestructible Smart Pen, which is my poetry. This blog is public. I wish people would comment more often, but maybe they have nothing to say about my poetry.
  3. Double Secret Star, which is filled with things that I think but wish not to say. I usually write in it very late at night and only a few times a month. They are thoughts and expressions that usually dissapate by morning. This blog is private
  4. This Land, which is my MySpace blog. I very seldom write in it. I have it because my sister made it for me. This blog is public.
FaceBook also as a "Notes" section which some people use as a blog. I use it to post such things as the "For I will consider my Cat Jeoffry" section from the "Jubliate Agno" by Kit Smart; "Rules For When You're at a Bar;" and other random, very unimportant things.

All this being said Mary Commentary (what you are reading) is a part of my heart and soul. I've had this blog for five years and I love it. Blogging to me is easier than writing in a diary because, well I type faster than I write. Whenever I feel something, I love to write in my blog. I love to go back through MaryCommentary and read old posts. Sometimes it makes me nostalgic. Sometimes it makes me happy to be where I am today.

Two words describe why I like to keep an online journal - SPELL CHECK!

Poetry is very personal, I don't like to comment on it!

Thanks for sharing. I agree that blogging seems to take the role over journals and diaries nowadays...and to me I think it's not a bad thing. ;P

Thanks for dropping by my blog. Have replied your question regarding the manga at my blog. ;)

I have enjoyed reading your blog tonight. I admit to being old enough to not understand some phrases but that is rare. What is important is that I find your writing to be generous and loving. And I love it. I look forward to reading more next week.

As Melody said, blogging does seem to have taken the place of journal writing for many. One of the advantages I see is that it connects people in a way that keeping your ideas and thoughts completely private doesn't do.

I will have to stop by your poetry blog. :-) As much as I love poetry, I never know what to say about it, I'm afraid!
