So, today there was a cultural credit event. We have to go to 5 a semester. they're pretty good here, not like Anderson University. Here at the Abbey, the school puts on or brings in plays, movies, musicians, dance troupes, etc. At AU it was really boring talks... Not very cultural at all!!! Anyway, today the St. Joseph's Irish Dancers came. They are ages 5-16 and they are really very good. There was a 13 year old boy who played the bag pipes magnificently! The little ones were absolutely adorable and the older ones had those great hard shoes that make that sound that you expect when you go to see Irish dancing. I mean, not as great a sound as the professional productions like River Dance because at those, they put microphones in the shoes. But, it was still really really awesome...

Those dresses they wear costs thousands of dollars, isn't that crazy.

Nice performance of Jayne Ere on your other site by the way. Tell your friends I laughed (almost), I cried (almost), and at the conclusion I threw roses at my computer screen.

This place doesn't use the dresses like that because 1) they are usually made of something very heavy like velvet. We're in the deep south. Girls were passing out. 2) many parents couldn't afford that.

The dresses are still embroidered and lovely, just not as pricy and they are v. breathable (so no passing out!)
