Seven years ago, sweetie. If we still hung out, if we were still friends, it'd be no problem. I don't add every person I used to know, I ever had a class with, etc as a FaceBook friend. Gee, I'm real sorry if I hurt your feelings but I just don't feel the need for such an expansive Friends List. :-)

Aaw, what the heck, I just read the whole thing! I went through the direct phase too, at about the same age as you are now. The phase where you up and tell someone directly that you aren't really interested in being friends. Honestly, after a lot of internal debate, I think it's much nicer to call them friends and just ignore them. The other way is just a little to cold, not very Christian.

The only exception I really have is for out and out bad people. If you have a drug dealer as an acquaintance, I don't think it's a bad thing to say that you don't want to be friends because of the way they live their life.
