So, I'm in trigonometry. It's not calculus or anything, but it's a higher math, relatively speaking. OK, so if you know c and b, you can figure out a using the Pythagorean theorem.
c^2 - b^2 = a^2
=17^2 - 15^2
= 289-225
= 64
= c^2
I didn't put down that the root of 64 was 8. We all know this. Most people can recite squares up to at least 12. We had to learn this in grammar school, no?
Soooo, why did I get a point taken off for not putting down that the square of 64 = 8 = c
Oh, yeah, maybe I just looked in the back of the book and saw what the answers for sin, tan, csc, and cot were and derived that c=8
not
But... it was just one point....
