Why I'm awake at 6:42am

Last night when I went to sleep, I thought about the things I want to accomplish the next day. I thought about how long I had been awake and active that day. I had woken up around 7:30 and gone downstairs to play video games. After dicking around on Fable 2 for a while, I pushed forward and finished the game. That makes it the second RPG I've ever completed and only the *third* video game that I've actually completed. Ever.

I know.

K-Swiss was looking forward to seeing Fable 3. Every hour he came downstairs to ask if I was going to finish Fable 2 today. I told him no. Then maybe. Then "I have five quests left!"

Then I ran upstairs to tell him I'd beaten the final boss.

Then I ran upstairs to tell him to get his ass downstairs because I was about to start Fable 3.

He watched me for a while and then thought that he actually might play Fable 3 himself. I like it a lot better. I mean, the decisions you have to make being a ruler... I think it's going to be very difficult.

I played Fable 3 until 4pm when I insisted we go out for food because for fucks sake it's 4pm and there is no food in the house and I'm going absolutely die of hunger pangs.

We ate and watched an episode of Mad Men and then K-Swiss shooed me upstairs to finish my Stats exam, which took me until 11pm. He had promised I could have the x-box when I was done, but I was content to watch him play Demon Souls for a while before we went to bed.

I crawled into bed around 12:20 and I thought about all the things I've just typed. I thought about the way in which I had woken up.

I woke up of my own volition. The first time I woke up, instead of blinking and falling back to sleep, I sat up. Mostly because I wanted to get in as much gaming as possible until working on my exam.

I thought about how I'm always able to wake up on my own on vacation. When you're relaxed and not dreading the day.

I decided that I needed to start getting out of bed the first time I am naturally roused. This is usually at ~6 hours and ~7.5 hours.

Before going to sleep, I last looked at the clock at 12:39am. This morning I woke at 6:42am. I stretched and thought "Maybe I should go back to sleep. I don't want to be too sleepy today." And then I stretched and sat up, just to see how sleepy I was. Pretty OK actually.

To keep from waking K-Swiss too early, I didn't want to shower before 7am. I didn't want to go downstairs to play Fable 3 before I had showered, done my hair and make up, and laid out my clothes.

So, lucky lucky you, I've decided to type out this blog post. No promises on this being every morning or anything.
