Annual Survey: 2011 Edition
Well, Tiff does a New Year survey every year. It's so neat, sometimes cringe-worthy, to go back and look at where you were this time two, three, even ten years ago. I thought I'd start doing one this year. Speaking of "ten years" this summer will mark ONE DECADE of MaryCommentary!!! How crazy is that?
2011: In The Beginning
Where did you bring in the New Year? I had to go into my emails to check. I was in Belmont, NC.
Who were you with? K-Swiss, Rebecca, Nathalie and Jim. A small section of K-Swiss's Agora Band (a group of Belmont people with whom he makes music and merriment).
Did you kiss anyone at midnight? K-Swiss, of course :)
Did you make any resolutions? Probably to work out regularly and eat healthier. That's the same every year.
If so did you keep them? Nah. I never do.
2011: Your Love Life*
Relationship Status: Had my 4 year anniversary with K-Swiss. For our anniversary (Sept 27) we got each other rings. Wedding rings, actually, but we didn't get married.

2011: Friends and Enemies
Did you meet any new friends this year? I've made some friends on r/drunk chat. Yes. I like to go online and drink occasionally. I may have met Tavis this year. And, well, everyone I've "met" this year has not been in person, but instead they are online friends. I mean, I met a few people while working at the restaurant, but I don't really keep up with people.
Did any of your friendships end? I haven't been much of friends with Ray in a while, but this year I finally just stopped. It wasn't a healthy relationship for me. I think we're all happier now that I don't tag along to hang out with K-Swiss and Ray, actually.
Did you dislike anyone? Yes. One person in particular. Whom I can't speak out on the internet. I don't want to pull a Dooce.
Did you make any new enemies? Not really
Did you resolve any fights? Not really. I'm no mediator
Who was(were) your closest friend(s)? K-Swiss is my nearest and dearest of course. Other people whom I talk to a lot include Tiff and Tim
Who did you grow apart from? Ray mostly. I don't have a lot of close friends
Do you have any regrets when it comes to your friendships? No. I like being a loner with one or two close buds and a few distant acquaintances.
2011: The Holidays
Did you have a Valentine? K-Swiss, of course. I think he got me a box of chocolates. And we went out for sushi as always.
Did the Easter bunny visit you? Well, he tried. I have no idea where the basket ended up. We were in Raleigh and Daddy tried to ship it to my friends house. It disappeared or Sir Tim ate it all.
Did watch fireworks on the 4th of July? Huh. I have no idea. Probably not.
Did you dress up for Halloween? Nope. I turned our porch light off and told K-Swiss and Pete not to answer the door.
What did you do for Thanksgiving? My sister hosted Thanksgiving for the first time. There were no mashed potatoes so it was one giant fail. (JK it was delish. xoxox)
Were you good this holiday season? I didn't fuck anyone I'm not supposed to and I didn't do any drugs, except caffeine and alcohol. So, I suppose so.
Did you get what you wanted? I wanted a fish tank and feather earrings. And a second cat. Bam. I also wanted Morrowind but FUCK YOU TOO STEAM.
2011: Your BIRTHDAY!!
Did you have a cake? YES! My wonderful co-worker Theresa makes everyone in our office cake on their birthday. I had red velvet with cream cheese dressing
Did you have a party? My work party co-incided with our Christmas luncheon. So after our lunching out, we came back and had cake.
Did you get any presents? I got a fishtank from K-Swiss, fucking awesome diablo earrings from Tiff. Star wars lunch box from Sandra.... Lots of cool things. Too many to mention.
If so, what was the best thing you got? Louis, our cat! She wandered into our office on my Birthday, so I took her home. My office mates helped pay for her first vet bill because they are awesome.
2011: All about YOU
Did you change at all this year? I became more secure in my beliefs. Also I'm feeling more mentally stable these days.
Did you dye your hair? No. Fuck. I really want to, though
Did you get your hair cut? YES! About 8 inches off. It's now a sharp bob, comes about between my ear and my chin, with straight across bangs. Love it.
Did you change your style? Not too much. I dress pretty much the same as ever: lots of black, dangly earrings, dark OR bright eye makeup. Lots of layers.
Were you in school? For a semester. I hated it, which shocked me.
Did you have a job? I work part time at a college. I love it my job.
Did you drive? What? Yes. That's a dumb question. I drive about 10 minutes to work 2-3x week. Sometimes I drive to the mall.
Did you own a car? My car leaked when it rained. It was gross. It was also a real lemon. I sold it for $700 and bought my mum's car off her for $1000. Sweet deal.
Did anyone close to you give birth? Ew.
Did you move at all? Yeah. Like my car, my old apartment sucked. If I was there alone it wouldn't be so bad, but it was too small for two people. We moved into a slightly bigger place. I wish there was more storage though.
Did you go on any vacations? Raleigh with K-Swiss over Easter break. Myrtle Beach for TwinFest. Tennessee for Family Vacay. I suppose going to VA for Xmas counts?
Did you leave the country at all? Nope nope nope. That sounds pricey, mang.
Would you change anything about yourself now? There are a few things I'd like to change, health-wise. I also which I could keep to a freaking schedule. But, meh, I'm pretty much OK with everything. I like my life. A little more moolah would be nice.

Did 2011 bring any new insights? Being angry is stupid. I'm working on not being angry because it's just a fucking poison. I try not to scream at people when I'm driving (and fucking everyone does).
Do you think 2012 will top 2011? Probably. Because I'll hopefully get a full time job and I won't be so broke. That's pretty much the only thing that sucks.

Do you think you'll be married by then? Probably not. K-Swiss and I have no plans for getting married, even though everyone and their mom wants us to

New Years resolution? To wear a different outfit every day for one year. I know, right. I always have all these grand plans of do xyz once a week/month/whatever. I'd like to work out more. I'd like to play some of my backlogged video games. Sometimes, I don't feel like it. That is OK.
Any trips planned? Chicago for Twinfest and Outer Banks with K-Swiss (in the spring. When it's too cold for water and not too hot yet).

What's on your calendar? The TMBG/Joco concert. Other things don't have dates set.
What can't you wait for? Fucking full time job, son. Seriously. Also I can't wait for my trips. Also they'd be a lot more fun if I had full time job (hence $$$)
What would you like to see happen different? I'd like to see myself become a runner and really good about working out and super healthy. But, HA! That is not going to happen. So, let's just hope I start working out at least ONCE a week. Oh, I'd also like to see my cats become buddies. Because they're still not sure about each other.

What happened in '11 that you didn't think would ever happen? Steam had their Christmas sale and Morrowind didn't go for 75% off. I genuinely did NOT see that coming.
What will you do differently in 2012? Blogging wise: I think I'm going to do monthly highlights. It'll be everything from anything cool/awful/significant that happened this month to a "Things I'm Loving" type of deal. It will be neat to look back on. It'll also help with this survey.
