There's gonna be a lot of changes going on. I won't be specific, not yet. It's not my place. I'm kinda sad. It's not just one thing, it's a lot of things. I think that next semester is going to involve a lot more driving... Anyway, the nights like we had when we went downtown Charlotte for, god, how long? may simply be a thing of the past. I've got some of my best friends here at school. Sir Tim, Ray and K-Swiss. Tiffany, of course, is at the top, but she isn't here at school. Well, I'm just glad to have Sir Tim, Ray and K-Swiss here with me at school while I've got 'em. It's always good to have friends like them and I really really value their friendship. They're the kind of people you want to know for forever. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. I'm not the best at keeping up, but -- Facebook! This is all so vauge. Hahah. It's also 3 am. I'm really tired. I've been sick for a few days and haven't eaten basi...

I've been really freaking sick since Tuesday afternoon when the flu, or something like it, hit me like a ton of bricks. I was fine at lunch time, but I started feeling crappy around 3-ish, so I left Phys. World lab early and discovered the (in)convenient hours of the Student Health Services: M-F 9am - 12pm; 1-3pm. Bummer. And, seeing as I have school health insurance, except on weekends and hols, I must go to health services and not, say, my regular GP. Bummer Anyway. I woke up about an hour ago, feeling pretty sick to my stomach, which is new ( the flu is not always characterized by nausea and vomiting; that is more commonly gastroenteritis ) and nothing was going on, so I took some of those lovely chalky pink pills to make my tummy feel better. And now I can't sleep. So, the real reason I got on to blog tonight: I was reading my Iffy's blog and clicked on a random blog in her blogroll: Castles made of sand... what a pretty name! More exciting than that, I saw my blog o...

So, I'm in trigonometry. It's not calculus or anything, but it's a higher math, relatively speaking. OK, so if you know c and b , you can figure out a using the Pythagorean theorem. c^2 - b^2 = a^2 =17^2 - 15^2 = 289-225 = 64 = c^2 I didn't put down that the root of 64 was 8. We all know this. Most people can recite squares up to at least 12. We had to learn this in grammar school, no? Soooo, why did I get a point taken off for not putting down that the square of 64 = 8 = c Oh, yeah, maybe I just looked in the back of the book and saw what the answers for sin, tan, csc, and cot were and derived that c=8 not But... it was just one point....

Statistics Today at lunch there was the usual heated political arguments. One student said something about not voting. Another student told the first that he would just be a statistic. We're all statistics, I said. If you don't vote, you're among the (majority) population of college students who don't vote. If you do, you're still a statistic. If you are a pregnant teenager, you're a statistic. If you're not a pregnant teenager, your a statistic. If you commit suicide, you're a statistic. If you live happily, you're a statistic. Everyone is a statistic. We're all just a series of numbers running through the tubes.

Well, I pulled out my Brain Age and Big Brain Academy. I hadn't played them in a while, but in psych we were talking about the stroop test, and that is one of the activities on Brain Age. So, I retested myself, and my brain age has dropped significantly. It was 20 years old. Young and fit. Appropriate for someone as witty and brilliant as myself. Well, today I tested in at 41 years old. The neuro-scientist who runs the test told me that I needed more practice. Well, we can all use a little more practice. (I NEED MORE PRACTICE, SIR!) My Big Brain score dropped from a B- to a C+. Not as bad, not at all. So, I'm going to try and do the activities a few times a week again. It's fun. Good for beefing up my cognitive brain functioning. We all love a beefy brain, you know.
